First Step’s Healthcare Interventions

It’s a very difficult step for someone to come to grasps with the fact that they might have a problem with drug addiction. The stigma alone keeps many individuals from seeking help, but without treatment, the problem won’t go away on its own and will only get worse over a period of time. If it hasn’t occurred now, it will take control of your life.

First Step Healthcare understands the unwillingness of our clients having concerns about their addiction treatment. One of our first urgencies is to deliver a safe and thoughtful setting where the healing can start without judgment.

First Step views recovery as a team effort between our staff and patients, and the goal is to discover the root reason of the problem and resolve any fundamental issues that may get in the way of sobriety.

Prescribing Medications That Reduce Cravings Intervention:

Medicines like Suboxone, Subutex, and Zubsolv are one of many treatments that can help limit the temptation to use opiates.  The Suboxone will aid in withdrawals so treatment and counselling will get to the reason why a patient struggles with addiction.

Cognitive Behavioral Intervention:

This is a skill-oriented intervention which is intended to show clients how their thoughts and behaviors are connected. This includes looking at previous experiences that might be triggering problems, and providing the patient with better coping skills to improve their behavior. Our practitioners’ also focus their treatment on the science of addiction, and to educate the patient on the anatomy of addiction. One example, of the science of addiction is to understand how opioids can hijack a brain.

Medication-Assisted Treatment Intervention :

First Step is extremely pleased to offer an evidence-based approach to our clients. Our evidence-based approach is more comprehensive and takes underlying medical problems that often obscure addiction and recovery into consideration.

No single treatment is suitable for every person. Matching treatment situations, interventions, and services to a person’s specific problems and requirements is critical to his or her final accomplishment in returning to functioning productively with family, in the workplace, and humanity. We offer a diverse range of behavior-changing and motivational methods in our personalized drug addiction treatment.

Motivational Enhancement Intervention:

Patients collaborate with their practitioner as a problem-solving unit to find the ideal solution. One of the main focuses of this therapy is to show the patient they are capable of recovery and other positive achievements.
